St. Rose of Lima Catholic School

April 29th, 2015

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia awarded St. Rose of Lima Catholic School a $500 Community Impact Award. This award will benefit the School's first, second and third grade students by helping to purchase the necessary textbooks for their reading class.

CFGP's Community Impact Award was presented to Sister Rita Murphy, IHM, Principal of St. Rose of Lima School. CFGP's Grant Committee Chairman and Board of Trustee member, Dr. Tammy Tenaglia, presented the award to Sister Rita along with CFGP's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Michael Murphy. Students from the first, second and third grades were also present for the award presentation.

"The Catholic Foundation provides help to places, like our school, who are in need," Sister Rita explained to her students. "Thanks to them, we are able to purchase our reading books for class."

The students of St. Rose of Lima School thanked the Foundation with an original song and round of applause.

"It's an honor to give this award to St. Rose of Lima," said Mr. Michael Murphy. "Our Community Impact Awards are meant to meet the immediate, everyday needs of our beneficiaries. The Foundation is humbled to have the opportunity to issue these awards and looks forward to granting more of them in the near future."

Congratulations to St. Rose of Lima School!
