Operating Base Cecilia, a facility run in partnership by the Veteran Multi-Service Center and Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, received a $500 Community Impact Award from CFGP for assistance with operations at their Coatesville location.
Operating Base Cecilia manages the nation-wide program, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, for the 5-county region of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The facility offers Veterans from the area assistance with basic needs including housing placement and job placement. They also provide their Veteran clients with case managers who work with them to develop a course of action to prevent homelessness or achieve stabilization and housing. Currently, Operating Base Cecilia serves over 3,500 Veterans on an annual basis.
Apart from their homelessness prevention services, Operating Base Cecilia also offers valuable job training tools for Veterans getting back on their feet. Their site includes a computer lab for help with resume building and job searches, as well as training for certificates such as ServSafe. Operating Base Cecilia additionally assists with financial literacy and budgeting to ensure a smooth transition for Vets as they return back to independent living.
